Best way to discover Shkoder? The Free Walking Tour Shkoder for sure!
The free walking tour Shkoder is probably the best way to get you oriented and bring to your attention details that you wouldn’t have noticed if not told by locals.
Important: We will not be hosting the Walking tour from the 11th to the 18th of July.
Summer hours are 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
From the month of October until March from Monday to Friday, the tour will start at 16:00 to 18:00. On weekends the tour will be hosted twice a day 10:00 to 12:00 and 16:00 to 18:00.
In this tour our guide will help you explore the heart of Shkodra and orient you to better understand its people, its traditions, and its history. We often hear from travelers that they had no expectations from Shkoder as a town and they didn’t plan to stay longer here.
At the end they either end up spending more days or regret not having planned it otherwise. So if you are planning to visit Shkodra, consider in advance adding an extra day in Shkoder to your journey and don’t forget to reserve your “walking tour” with us.
How does the tour work? Unlike our other activities, in this tour our guides only payment comes from your tips. If you are familiar with the Free walking tour concept then you got it!
In other words, you decide what the tour was worth.
The starting hour of the tour during the summer season is at 10:00 in front of “Bashkia” Shkoder or the Town Hall, our guide will be waiting in front of the Municipality for you to show up. If you run a little late, you may find us at the park in front of the Town Hall heading toward Grand hotel Europa.
We do suggest making a request by email and not just show up without an advance notice.
The length of this tour is approximately 2 hours, and we will cover the center of the town, not the main pedestrian road but rather secondary roads around it.
Rozafa castle is not part of this tour since the distance to cover is too long and will end up prolonging the tour for more than 4 hours. We offer the Rozafa Castle at a different time.
In the Free Walking Tour Shkoder we will cover Shkodra during the Albanian Independence period, the comunist regime, the anti comunist movement in Shkoder but also we would talk about the diverse religions in town and about all what makes Shkoder unique in the aria the “biking lifestyle”.
Every year we have thousands of travelers that join us in this tour. We highly suggest you attend it.

Great tours
“We did 3 tours with this company, the free walking tour, cycling around the lake and Rozafa castle. We contacted them a few days in advance and they were very responsive and flexible to arrange our tours. All tours were great with some very knowledgeable guides and good information on Albanian history and culture. The same people also own a juice bar where it’s nice to sit down and order some fresh juice (difficult to get in Albania).”

One of the best tours I’ve experienced
“Aleyna gave me and the others such a detailed and fun tour that time blew by so quickly I didn’t even notice. She was warm, welcoming, funny, and most importantly, knew how to engage with everyone in the group. I’d give it 6 stars if they’d let me.”

Good free walking tour
“We did the free walking tour with Kiri Adventures and it was really interesting. We walked in parts of town we hadn’t seen before even though we were in Shkodër a few days already. The tour guide answered all our questions about Albania and Albanian culture. Would highly recommend!”
